Pump It Up

In high school I played as a defensive end for my football team. I was pretty good my senior year as I averaged around five tackles per game and a sack per game. One of my favorite experiences in all of my sports was getting a huge sack. For those that don't follow or understand the game of football, a sack is when you tackle the quarterback in the backfield. I could never figure out why this was my favorite play I could make in the game. I have scored a few defensive touchdowns and sacking the quarterback was always my favorite. It could have been my favorite because of my dislike for quarterbacks.

California Tumbles Into The Sea

During my time in grade school there was always a hug buzz about the sixth grade field trip. As far back as second grade is when we started talking about it. We always pictured it as going to be the highlight of our schooling up until that point. The trip was to Hershey Park, about two or three hours away. People always said about how the park had the best roller coasters in the world and how the food was so good, this was enough for my friends and I to get excited about this trip. The of the trip came, I was gladly rising from bed at 5:30 am to start our trip to Hershey Park that day. We all had to select a partner to travel the park with so we didn't end up getting lost and always had a buddy to help out if we didn't know where we were going. I knew that there was a brand new roller coaster at the park and I was so eager to test it out. It was said that the ride was 225 feet tall and could reach speeds of close to 200 miles per hour. I was very much of an adrenaline junkie of...

Highway Patrolmen

My father and I have always had a passion for hunting whitetail deer. Oftentimes we will be working year-round to scout and pursue this elusive creature. He introduced me into hunting at the age of ten years old and I absolutely fell in love with the sport. I quickly had to learn that there were going to be many more failures than successes when we went out hunting. My father helped me keep my head up high and keep hunting. Finally, after such a long time of hunting, I had the opportunity to take a big buck. I had used all the techniques he had taught me. Relax, slow your breathing, easy on the trigger. After I had downed the animal, my dad and I were so excited and I thanked him for teaching me everything I know. I approached the animal first and made sure to thank the animal for giving us many meals and my father for such a great experience and life lesson on appreciation for the resources given to us by God.

Stolen Car

I was driving to the next town over from mine for groceries when it happened. It was a very humid rainy day and I was on a backroad on my way there, not really thinking much of the situation. The roads were completely saturated, it had been raining very hard all day. I then came up on a stop sign. I began to try to stop but I realized I was not stopping. My heart jumped into my throat. All I could think about was an oncoming car hitting my side door. I was halfway through the intersection before I realized that if I kept trying to stop I would keep on sliding. So I had to keep on driving through the intersection. Luckily, I got out of the incident completely unscathed.
